The landscape of West Penwith has always made my heart leap. The raw, terrifying nature of sea and cliff made a deep impact upon me from an early age.
When I moved to live here in 2012, it was only a matter of time before that impact would reveal itself as a powerful need to express those feelings in the only way I really knew how; through drawing.
In the last few years I have begun exhibiting my work, mostly through the Penzance Studios group of artists, as well as local open exhibitions.
My work has been described as having a "glorious wild solitude" which I think is a perfect way to describe them. Other comments have included "oh...It's not a photograph", and "that must take ages", which are also accurate.
